Season One
Pilot. On his 16th birthday,
Jesus of Nazareth (Seth Green) discovers he is the Son of God. As
his parents (Tom Wopat, Jean Smart) struggle to help him come to
terms with this knowledge, like any teenage boy, his thoughts turn
to the beautiful girl next door (Bianca Kjalich). Will his newfound
power, and its encumbent responsibility, cause her to see him in
a new light? Or will it send her into the arms of the popular Pontius
PIlate (Marc Blucas)? Judas: Timm Sharp.
The Grapes of Wrath.
When Jesus (Seth Green) joins the goat-head polo team, Mary and
Joseph (Jean Smart, Tom Wopat) worry that his secret, heavenly abilities
will make him a target of hate. But, when the team captain (Ethan
Erickson) discovers Jesus' ability to turn water into wine, he becomes
the most popular kid in school. After Maggie (Bianca Kajlich) has
a little too much divine Merlot, the gang learns a valuable lesson
about alcohol and chariot driving.
Mr. Methuselah. When
Nazareth High's oldest teacher (Hal Holbrok) dies, it's up to Jesus
(Seth Green) to decide whether to bring him back to life or not.
Meanwhile, Pontius (Marc Blucas) and Maggie (Bianca Kjalich) grow
closer together over a shared fondness for milk and honey. Meanwhile,
Mary and Joseph (Jean Smart and Tom Wopat) endure a crisis in the
marriage over an infidelity 16 years ago.
Leviticus Shemiticus.
After a flirtatious encounter at a public stoning, Jesus (Seth Green)
thinks Maggie (Bianca Kajlich) may be interested in him after all.
But, when Pontius (Marc Blucas) becomes jealous of their relationship,
Jesus must decide between following his heart or his destiny. Meanwhile,
a mysterious man in black (Ted McGinley) arrives in Nazareth and
becomes fast friends with Joseph (Tom Wopat).
It's My Party. There's
a bright star overhead and shepherds, sheep and wise men are flocking
in from the countryside. But on his birthday, all Jesus (Seth Green)
cares about is getting Maggie (Bianca Kajlich) to go with him to
the Winter Formal. Unfortunately, she still has her sights set on
Pontius (Marc Blucas). Mary (Jean Smart) frets about how to let
the three Kings know that what she really wants are a pair of slipper
socks, not Myrrh. And Lucifer (Ted McGinley) becomes the new principal
at Nazareth High.
Houseguests and Fish.
While Jesus (Seth Green) is still on a high after his romantic dance
with Maggie (Bianca Kajlich) at the Winter Formal, Pontius (Marc
Blucas) schemes with Judas (Timm Sharp) to make him look like a
fool at the annual Father/Son Fishing Tournament. Meanwhile, Mary
(Jean Smart) has trouble getting rid of three kingly houseguests
who have overstayed their welcome. Lucifer (Ted McGinley) pays a
mysterious visit to the alchemist's shop.
Jezebel. It's time for
Nazareth's annual Winter Carnival and Jesus (Seth Green) wants to
take a hayride with Maggie (Bianca Kajlich). But Lucifer (Ted McGinley)
has other plans when he introduces Jesus to Jezebel (guest star
Jessica Simpson). Joseph (Tom Wopat) continues to needle Mary (Jean
Smart) about the true identity of Jesus' father. Maggie begins to
suspect that Pontius (Marc Blucas) may be dyslexic.
Love Among the Pomegranites.
When Jesus (Seth Green) and Maggie (Bianca Kjalich) find themselves
locked in the Bazaar overnight, old issues and new feelings emerge,
leading to a passionate kiss. A new girl in Nazareth (Meredith Monroe)
catches Judas's eye. And Lucifer (Ted McGinley) tells Pontius (Marc
Blucas) about his destiny.
The Flood (Part One).
Lucifer's (Ted McGinley) grand design comes into focus as the students
of Nazareth High prepare for the Prom. After their steamy after-hours
session in the Bazaar, Jesus (Seth Green) assumes that Maggie (Bianca
Kajlich) will be his date for the big event, but her feelings for
Pontius (Marc Blucas) continue to linger. Mary (Jean Smart) finally
reveals to Joseph (Tom Wopat) that although Jesus is the son of
God, he wasn't exactly conceived on the first try. Meanwhile, Judas
(Timm Sharp) falls for Cleo, the new exchange student from Egypt
(International Pop Sensation Ashanti), not realizing she is really
Lucifer in disguise. But everything is interrupted by a great flood,
the results of which are destined to change many lives. (Part One
of Two)
The Flood (Part Two).
As Nazareth deals with the results of the devastating flood, Jesus
(Seth Green) faces the consequences of saving Pontius (Marc Blucas)
and not Maggie (Bianca Kajlich), who discovers she is now blind.
The marital tension between Joseph and Mary (Tom Wopat and Jean
Smart) heats up. And a heartbroken Judas (Timm Sharp) vows revenge
against Lucifer (Ted McGinley).
Truer Than Fiction. When
Jesus (Seth Green) writes a play about the last year in Nazareth,
everyone clamors for a part. But when it reveals too much about
his relationship with Maggie (Bianca Kajlich) the auteur must contend
with an angry Pontius (Marc Blucas). Having recovered from the flood,
Lucifer's (Ted McGinley) final goal is revealed and it puts guest
star J.K. Simmons, as John the Baptist, in danger. Can Jesus put
his artistic differences aside long enough to save him.
Sins and Sinners. As
Lucifer (Ted McGinley) pulls out all the stops to prevent the Baptism,
Judas (Timm Sharp) finds out about Jesus's (Seth Green) Heavenly
origins. Joseph and Mary (Tom Wopat and Jean Smart) have an intense
discussion about the future of their marriage. And Maggie (Bianca
Kajlich) and Pontius (Marc Blucas) commit a mortal sin while on
a ski trip.
The Other Cheek. As Jesus
(Seth Green) tries to explain to his parents why he wants to be
baptized, Maggie (Bianca Kajlich) worries about being stoned to
death when Pontius (Marc Blucas) brags of their exploits to the
goat head polo team. Joseph (Tom Wopat) asks Mary (Jean Smart) to
marry him all over again. And Judas (Timm Sharp) tries to get Jesus
to ask his other Dad to create Judas a girlfriend. But when Lucifer
(Ted McGinley) finally reveals himself to Jesus, the stage is set
for a major battle.
Baptism By Fire. As Jesus
(Seth Green) summons his power to fight Lucifer (Ted McGinley),
Judas (Timm Sharp) helps John the Baptist (J.K. Simmons) prepare
for the ceremony. But when Pontius (Marc Blucas) chases a distraught
Maggie (Bianca Kajlich) into the line of fire, not everyone may
survive. The first season of the Heavenly teen drama draws to a
close with a thrilling victory and a poignant goodbye.
Season Two
Temptations. The second
season of the heavenly teenage soap picks up two months after the
explosive season finale that saw Lucifer (Ted McGinley) consumed
in a ball of fire and Jesus (Seth Green) baptized by guest star
J.K. Simmons. Marital tension continues to fester between Joseph
and Mary (Tom Wopat and Valerie Bertinelli, replacing a departing
Jean Smart) and Jesus’s crush, Maggie (Bianca Kajlich), continues
to deal with her loss of sight. When her boyfriend Pontius (Marc
Blucas) returns from his summer vacation in Gommorah with so new
ideas about their relationship, she turns to Jesus for comfort…and
a kiss. Also, Heather Locklear arrives in town as the sexy new Alchemy
teacher with a dark secret.
