Who is Janice?

Janice, the Original Bad Tiki, has been in my family for decades. She was given to my Mother by my Uncle, after his stint in the Air Force. Her name was given by my friend Laura and me due to her resemblance to a certain Muppet. Mike has described her as looking like a Hirschfield drawing of Hilary Swank. Her twin sister, Melba, resides with my Uncle.

But Janice isn't technically a tiki.

Is that a question? No, technically she is not a tiki, but www.badsouthasiantchochke.com is too long, and surprisingly, already registered. Not to offend any tiki purists, (and trust me, there are tiki purists) but I've taken to word to describe any outrageous, gaudy or inexplicable knick-knacks. Plus, words with "k" in them are easier to remember.

So, this is a site all about tikis?

No. This site is mainly a place for me to post my writing. But, as someone with a working knowledge of showtunes, I know you gotta have a gimmick.

Who is Lois Lane?

Lois Lane is the pseudonym of my dearest friend. We've known each other since six grade, when she was madly in love with Sean Connery. Now, with Lois Lane's Imaginary Celebrity Boyfriend Corral, she finally has a place to share her thoughts on her celebrity crushes.

Who is Scott Tenorman?

Scott Tenorman is my boyfriend. He's dreamy. His name comes from a South Park character who loves Radiohead almost as much as he does.

Um, who are you, by the way?

I'm Mark. I sometimes also go by Grinaldi. I write stuff. I'm 29, live in Los Angeles with my partner, Scott Tenorman.

Can we see a picture?

You can see three of them, but only one is me. Guess which one. (Even though, according to Scott, it looks nothing like me)
